Donors Built for Fertility

Our Donors are managed under normal pasture conditions and are expected to breed back within a 45-90 day window post-calving. To be accepted into our donor program a female must not only have the quality we expect here at Texas Rose but must be able to out produce herself in terms of phenotype, and performance. We only flush cows that have proven to actively produce and are free of udder issues, and have structural soundness. We do not believe in being multipliers but rather are breeders. This means our donors are only cattle that we have every intent of building our herd around.

MISS J&M ZOLA 925/6

Deep bodied, structurally sound, big-footed and full of pigment.

Zola is a favorite here at the ranch for her overall moderation and fleshing-ability. She maintains her condition under all range conditions. We are using her as one of the matriarch's as we build and establish our Red Brahman herd. She is out of the prolific JDH LADY SAV MANSO 733/0 cow.

MISS J&M PAULA 551/2

Paula is a cow that we were very excited to add to our herd. Not only is she a direct MR. H BOGOTA MANSO 253/1 daughter but she is also out of the JDH LADY SAV MANSO 733/0 cow which makes her and Zola half sisters but more so being that Zola's sire is a direct son of BOGOTA as well.

Paula brings all of the right parts to the table between her strong maternal instincts, structural soundness, length of body as well as her overall disposition. In her very first IVF flush she produced 150 oocytes with a whopping 83 being fertilized and frozen. Embryo collection aside she also has bred back consistently and is one we are watching closely as we look to pack more power into our calves going forward.

MISS WJ SADIE 320/1

If there were ever a cow we would want to make a thousand copies of..SADIE would be one at the top of the list for us. She brings to life the very essence of MATERNAL. She has a great bag with strong udder suspension and consistently breeds back without issues. To speak on her fertility, she has done the very job every cow should and that is breed back consistently and quickly after calving.

The only issue we find with this cow is her coloration. She was 100% meant to be a red cow but due to the luck of genetics came out a beautiful orange which has transferred to all of her offspring when bred to a grey or red-tinged bull. We are hoping to have her produce solid red cows to make her one of the matriarchs of our red herd as we develop it.

SADIE is unique in that she brings together two of some of the top end genetics on both sides. Her Sire needs no introduction as she is a direct daughter of the legendary +MR. V8 458/7 "NOBLE" bull and her dam is +ASL MISS TOOTSIE a cow that traces back to the red breed greats of "X-Ray", "MILLIONAIRE" and "TORGSON"

The icing on the cake making SADIE a herd stand out is that she is loved and favorited by both of our daughters Rayleigh and Larkynn.

MS. TEXAS ROSE 10

TEXAS ROSE 10 is a fun cow for us to utilize as a donor as she combines our favorite herd bull of SRS. MR. COSTA 363/7 and one of our favorite cows MISS V8 684/8. When choosing which cows to flush on the ranch it was originally a toss up between TEXAS ROSE 10 and MISS V8 684/8. Utimately, we decided that while we do love all the things MISS V8 684/8 brings to the table. COSTA daughters have been consistent in out-producing themselves and we feel TEXAS ROSE 10 is a better representation of the very heart of our herd. TEXAS ROSE 10 is a very moderate cow with plenty of depth of body. She is long-sided and covers her tracks with ease. Her udder is one of our favorite qualities as she has very good udder suspension and great teat shape and spacing.

MS. TEXAS ROSE 6

Of all of our home-grown and hand developed Donors, MS. TEXAS ROSE 6 is our all-time favorite. She combines size and function. She tips the scales at over 1600 lbs but still is able to maintain weight year round regardless of the pasture conditions. She has consistently bred back yearly and has passed on her size, disposition, and fleshing-ability. Genetically she combines SRS MR. COSTA 363/7 and MS. TEXAS ROSE MARY 1. COSTA has consistently bred great daughters but its' the MARY cow in TEXAS ROSE 6's pedigree that makes her special. MS. TEXAS ROSE MARY 1 was the very first calf born to wear our brand out of the cow that started our journey into Brahman cattle in the first place. Mary was a cow that bred back yearly regardless of body condition and had calves that surpassed her every time. Unfortunately Mary passed suddenly back in 2021, but we are thankful to have a cow not only carrying on her legacy but improving upon it.
