Texas Rose Cattle began as a dream drawn on a napkin sitting in a restaurant on the famous San Antonio riverwalk . From there it grew into a continually expanding operation that focuses not just on genetics but high-quality beef for direct-to-consumer sales.
We formally established Texas Rose Cattle Company in 2013 with our official incorporation but truthfully our story started before then. We started from humble beginnings with one of our Owners-Logan Roper, having a passion for agriculture with "a faith born not of words but of deeds," in other words a passion instilled and cultivated over years starting from an Agriculture classroom and a heavy involvement in FFA. Those formative years from 8th grade through high school were filled with not your typical trials but interesting stories in their own right. From catching calves in multiple calf scrambles, to buying our very first Brahman heifer from the prestigious V8 ranch every step of the way in those initial years led to what we are today.
Following high school, Logan was left with seemingly endless choices on which path to follow. Ultimately with a whole lot of faith and a little bit of luck he ended up attending Texas A&M where he received his Bachelors in Animal Science. Following graduation he spent many years working in different sectors of the agriculture industry gaining valuable hands-on experience from artificial insemination and embryo transfer, to general cattle health all the way to dairy herd management. It was during this time of working in different agricultural sectors that he pursued and received his Masters' from East Texas A&M (Formerly Texas A&M Commerce).
During the time of pursuing his Masters' Logan met his wife Courtney. In a funny turn of events not only can we say we started with a strong FFA background with emphasis on family but we can also say FFA plays a very important role to this day. Courtney when she met Logan was a very active FFA advisor at a nearby school. To this day she still teaches Floral Design and acts as an advisor for her school's FFA officer team.
Soon after marrying Logan and Courtney were blessed with their youngest daughter Rayleigh and then later on Larkynn. To this day they strive to raise their children to be strong leaders within the agriculture industry and have a passion for Brahman and Brahman-cross cattle.
Given our history it should be no surprise that we love to help and support local FFA members as well as any junior cattle showman. We proudly accept calf scramble certificates and offer assistance in developing feed programs.
